I don’t trust the Remington safety, especially with a youth hunter. I just installed a New Timney 1.5-4 lbs. adjustable trigger set at 3 pounds. This is a newer production, new and improved Remington 700 after the bankruptcy. It has a smooth jeweled bolt and comes with a 24 inch 5R barrel with a 1 in 10 twist. It definitely shoots the heavier ammo very well!
This is a nice , lightweight rifle, basically brand new with new components. Maybe 20-30 rounds fired. I set this up for my son that started to hunt this year, but the length of pull was too long for him, so he ended up with a youth rifle.
