This is the highly desirable “A” Serial number production rifle. Barrel Stamping of DQ. That places this rifle made about the September 1978 timeframe. The original Model 700 Classic was mfg. 1978-1985.
Includes a Remington Short Action synthetic stock, weaver mounts / rings, and Nikon ProStaff 5 2.5-10 x 42 Scope with BDC Reticle. Nikon still honors their lifetime warranties. This rifle did have the Remington Trigger Recall work performed on it. This extra stock is in case you’d like to hunt with this rifle and not risk dinging up the original stock. Also includes 13 rounds of Hornady Superformance ammunition 95gr SST and 6 empty cases.
This rifle is at about 98% condition, pictures hardly do it justice. It doesn’t have any bluing wear around the muzzle from sliding in and out of a rifle case and the jeweling on the bolt is absolutely gorgeous. This barrel also does not have the “Safety Warning” roll marked into the barrel as later production rifles do which also enhances the beauty of the bluing.
Asking $1550. Serious inquiries only. Must be a Montana Resident 18+ and not be a prohibited person from owning firearms.
I originally bought this rifle for my son when he was born, as I have always loved the 6mm Remington and its a good starter cartridge. However, he wanted to shoot something different so we ended going a different route.
