Honestly I don’t know too much about this. Acquired in a trade, early style bolt pull/cock. Receiver wrist is marked 1920 Lithgow, making it an interwar period.
A brief research leads me to understand it was an Australian SMLE that ended up in India and was part of the Ishapore refurbishment program. Bore is in great shape, likely an Ishapore replacement.
While I haven’t shot this, it has all the hallmarks of a good SMLE shooter. One you won’t cry about shooting a WW1 relic.
