Great find here! a lightly used 1942 Remington Woodsmaster Model 81 Standard chambered for .35 Rem. through a 22 inch barrel. The rifle is in great overall condition with some cosmetic blemishes and a responsive action. The bolt cycles well with a smooth travel and a responsive action spring. The bluing throughout the receiver and barrel are in great shape for its age and no signs of pitting. The receiver appears to have had been drilled and tapped but the scope has been removed. The furniture is in great condition with very few signs of wear present and very few pressure dents and there are no chips or cracks in the wood, and you can see where someone removed the sling swivels, but this does have the original Remington butt-plate. The markings are crisp and legible on this rifle. The bore has high shine throughout with sharp rifling and a uniform crown. The serial number of this rifle is 20725, and the code on the receiver barrel is KL, which translates to May of 1942. All internals have been cleaned and restored by a gunsmith here in Montana one of the best condition model 81 I personally have ever seen!
