First hand experience. Before my back surgery it was the only thing that gave me pain relief so I could sleep. It didn't make me feel like crap like opioids did. I'm the type of person who likes to be in control of my senses and I never felt out of it with the kratom, so once I went through surgery and the cause of my pain was gone, I quit using it. In responsible hands it is a godsend. But like all of the rest of creation, it can be abused. I would hope that the legislature lets us keep our liberty to make health choices for ourselves without making us beholden to the profit driven pharma industry.

I never heard of it, but from your article "Kratom is an herbal extract that comes from the leaves of an evergreen tree called Mitragyna speciosa." Figures they want to ban it, big pharma can't make any money off it because it's a plant and anyone can grow it.
