100 year old original Marlin 39 rifle (not a 39A). At some point in the life of this rifle a previous owner mounted a Stith scope mount and subsequently removed it. This has left a few mounting holes (4) drilled in the receiver. They don’t have any negative effect of the functionality of the rifle but they are present. See pictures. This rifle functions properly and is extremely accurate with a very light trigger pull. The magazine operates correctly. The walnut buttstock and forend are quite nice especially considering it is 100 yeras old. It has a small chip in the buttplate and is missing the rear sight. The original rear sight is available for a reasonable price. This rifle has a case hardened receiver. These rifles sell for well over 3,000.00 in good condition and 1,500.00 in fair condition. Considering the holes and lack of a rear sight, I feel 700.00 is a fair price. This is a classic rifle and very hard to find. Would make a great Christmas present for that special someone. If you like vintage lever action rifles, this might be for you. Truthfully, I paid 1,300.00 for this rifle several years ago so I am taking a huge loss. If you have any interest in buying please send me a message. By the way, I might have a Lyman aperature sight for this rifle that woud preclude you from having to buy a rear sight but you woud need to buy it if you want it. We can talk about it. Thank you.
