This firearm is from a reputable Gunsmith in the Flathead Valley that has asked me to do the leg work of the sale. This Pre-Model 29 was manufactured in 1956 and to the best of His understanding and his expertise this gun was never fired after it left Smith & Wesson. He purchased the pistol from Randy Shuman in his Newville Pennsylvania showroom in 1975. Randy had acquired this pistol as part of a large collection he had purchased. The pistol has been in the safe ever since the purchase in 1975. This is the 5 screw, 6 1/2″ barrel with the “Coke Bottle” palm swell grips. We can not find any markings on the inside of the grips but they are the hand fit grips the factory installed in 1956. Unfortunately we do not have the box or tool kit that came with the revolver from Smith & Wesson. This is a beautiful piece of Smith history and will be an amazing addition to someone’s collection.
