My guess is that suddenly you will have an obstacle in the way of your iron sight. I have replaced all red dot and holographics with optics that have reticles. They will still work.

There's allot of factors with emp, the type of burst. Where it happens, on the case of guns if they are in your safe they are essentially in a Faraday cage.

Most cheap safes are not sealed tight enough or grounded. The items inside need to be setting on a non-conductive base. Not sure that a safe would act as an actual Faraday Cage. It's easy enough to remove any electronics and build an actual Faraday Cage to protect them. Grounding is key.

Most cheap safes are not sealed tight enough or grounded. The items inside need to be setting on a non-conductive base. Not sure that a safe would act as an actual Faraday Cage. It's easy enough to remove any electronics and build an actual Faraday Cage to protect them. Grounding is key.
