The coolest Mosin ever? Or the dumbest Mosin ever? You decide.
This poor Mosin has been augmented with a .308 bore bull barrel, a Timney trigger with thumb safety, an Archangel stock, a rock solid scope mount, and an Oculus 6-24X FFP scope. Basically, the only Mosin left here is the receiver and bolt.
Honestly, it’s a pretty great gun. It shoots like a benchrest rifle, the trigger is great, and it’s built like a tank. Seriously, it weighs like 13lbs. So why do I want rid of it? Well, it’s still a Mosin, and it has the same feeding problems that any other Mosin does. I’m sure you could do something to improve it, but for me, I’d rather just go back to shooting my Tikka.
Please note that while this gun has a 7.62X54R chamber, it has a .308 bore, like the Finnish Mosins do. People may call this a .308X54R, or a 7.62X53R. Lots of people just shoot standard 7.62X54R through these barrels, but my textbook recommendation is gonna be that you load .308 bullets in your X54R cases like I did.
Also, the gunsmif that built this gun must have been slightly inebriated, because the scope mount is not perfectly aligned. I have the gun equipped with adjustable scope mounts to give enough room for high-magnification scopes to zero as needed.
Price includes gun, magazine, mounts, and scope.
