Registration Approval

This site was once wide open to the general public. Anyone could post ads. When spammers and spammers figured out how to post ads, registration became required to help weed out these pests.Although no method is 100% secure. Use common sense before contacting anyone in a classified ad anywhere.

In an attempt to help limit the amount of spams and scams that are posted at Montana Gun Trader,  all registrations at Montana Gun Trader are approved manually by a Montana administrator before members can join and post ads. Five or less criteria are used to determine eligibility to join this site and become able to post ads. No background checks of any kind are performed in order to register at this site. The legality of any and all transactions is left to members who transact, whether the other party is a member or not. Do a Montana Background Check for Free using the Montana Correctional Offender Network.

If your IP address is in Montana, you are automatically approved. IP addresses outside of the United States even being able to view this website are obstructed by scripting. If somehow someone is able to get over this barrier, IP addresses outside of the United States are never approved. If your IP address is not registered in Montana such as mobile carriers, the location and telephone number entered by the user during registration are compared. If both are legitimate in appearance only, such as Helena location and a telephone number with an area code such as 406, they are approved.

Exception: Those who create groups will receive notifications for every member who joins their group. There is no opt out for this function. It is a responsibility of group creation.

If Montana Gun Trader changes any aspect of its Privacy Policy, we will post in the General Discussion Group which you can easily join, leave or unsubscribe from. It is your responsibility to stay up to date and review this websites terms and privacy.
